Today I started to learn more about transactions. Transactions are reports to the AFL and its members (team/franchises) stating daily or week moves the organization makes with their athletes. Transactions can be very confusing at times. Each organization is only allowed to have a total of 21 active roster members, 4 inactive (practice squad) members, and up to 6 or so injured reserve members. Every team is allotted two day workouts for free agents. Each free agent is allowed up to four days of practice with any franchise in the same week.
Today the Cleveland Gladiators reported a total of six transactions, they placed one athlete on league suspension, one on inactive reserve, one on injured reserve, and assigned three to the roster. When an athlete is placed on injured reserve they are required to remain on that list a minimum of 4 weeks or until after week 9. If the athlete is removed from the injured reserve list, they will have to be waived by the franchise, allowing them to be assigned by the team with the highest claim order. Other duties completed today was midfield film breakdown of the Predators.
